KentuckyBlueBass Posted June 11, 2019 Posted June 11, 2019 I've been interested in making my own lures for a while now, and I think I'm finally going to pull the trigger. What would be the best/easiest bait to start out making (and still be effective). Also, what are the supplies that I need to make that bait. Any advice is appreciated. Quote
Super User Munkin Posted June 11, 2019 Super User Posted June 11, 2019 Jigs are the easiest for me the other thing would be painting pre-made crankbait blanks. Next would be pouring soft plastics into open pour molds. Jannsnetcraft.com Barlowstackle.com Lurepartsonline.com Lurecraft.com Allen 2 Quote
JakeTZ Posted June 13, 2019 Posted June 13, 2019 ^^^ Get blank pre-made jig heads of any type (whatever you use most, ie. football, flipping, etc) Pick out your favorite three jig colors and get those strands Get some wire and try tying a few up. Be careful...you'll get addicted quickly!! 1 Quote
Luke Keown Posted June 18, 2019 Posted June 18, 2019 If you are interested in painting hardbaits of any kind i suggest buying a Iwata Neo CN airbrush. Also look into Wicked Airbrush paint made by Createx. You will also need various items like an air compressor, cups to mix paint in, cleaning materials for the brush and stencils to add different effects to your work. Quote
