So I just bought myself a shimano compre 7'2" medium heavy extra fast spinnerbait rod and was wondering if this would be OK for flipping and pitching??? I don't do much of it so it wouldn't be over worked but needed something and it seems like a very sturdy rod. Any suggestions will help :)

@Daniel0801, the Compre should be just fine for how you intend to use it. And might I suggest dropshot (Bubba shot) as well.  And BTW, welcome to Bass Resource and the Forums!

@WRBcasting rod

Your basic bass rod use it for whatever you like with the exception of flipping. Short flip cast or pitching you can do with any rod, flipping and lifting a bass out of cover isn't going to work well.

for light cover... yep it will work. i use a 7'4" dobyns heavy(which is really a medium heavy)for jigs to bushes and laydowns with no issues.

You'll be fine!  ?

My #1 worm & jig rods are Shimano Crucial 6'10" medium heavy extra fast.

If I'm working an area that requires me to cast or flip or pitch I don't change rods 3 times.

Now I'm talking medium heavy cover ?
