Hey Fellas,l

Im interested in upgrading my Citica 200e gear ratio from 6:1 to something higher. Could you guys point me in the right direction? Could I buy a complete kit somewhere or would it be better to order parts from Shimano?

Thanks in advance

The Curado 200E and the Citica 200E have many interchangeable components.  If you can find the drive gear and pinion for a 200E7 you will get a 7.0:1 speed.  I have a Citica 200E on which I put a Curado 200 E star drag and look nice.  My grandson has two Citica 200E reels in which I put ABEC 7 bearings, carbon tec drag washers and polished the internals and they are really sweet little reels.  I also spiffed mine up and just love it.

What the above member said. Look on ebay, they usually have the e7 gear sets for sale. While you're at it, might as well order some carbon drag washers. I did all over the above to my Citica 201e awhile back before I gave it away to my nephew. I really miss that reel. I don't think I'll ever buy another Citica unless it's a 201e series.

You can also still order parts straight from Shimano. I linked the Chronarch page as they don't have the Curado 200 series listed anymore. The Chronarch 200 series parts should work as well and offers a 5 and 7 gear ratio. I have had great luck ordering from Shimano since they're located here in California. I usually get my parts in 1-2 days.

Yep, the 7:1 set from the Curado 200E 7. Probably can get one at the TrackleTrap if in stock. But going from a 6:3 is not going to be a huge night and day difference in IPT. But there is a difference nonetheless and in theory, new gears will make the reel feel smooth again.
