This cheap little fellow right here.  I've nailed two in the 5 pound range in the limited time I've had fishing it, my Daiwa Millionaire Classic UTD gave up on me.  I'll get back to throwing it once the fiancee lets me have my birthday Daiwa Lexa-WN 300 7.1:1.

Both of the fish have come from fishing it like a jerkbait.

@Bluebasser86, that Slammer is absolutely destroyed.

I'm sure that works on those magnum hyper aggressive spots he chases. Burning it on top surely catches numbers. When the smaller fish want it burned over the grass I'll  throw the 6" BS or the Bull Herring. Most of my bigger fish on the 8" have bit a stop and go medium retrieve throwing parallel to grass lines. Also bring it over shallow grass beds and kill it for just a second at the edge (drop off). When the fish have pulled off the bank I'll fish it just out of site( slow roll). Been throwing them 3 years so I've still got a lot to learn. Got a 9" I can't get a fish to even look at. The 8" verse the 9" is a very big jump in size & weight.

Most bass landed: S-Waver 168 in Bone or I Know It

Most hits: Huddgill in Green Sunfish.

Glide Jack 180. Fished like a glide bait or waked on top. Haven't caught anything big on it but I catch numbers like a crankbait.

Glad to hear that about the gill, about to pull the trigger on one.

It gets hit like crazy but I land depressingly few of them.  With smaller bass that get hooked on the outside of the mouth it's almost a forgone conclusion that it will throw it at the first jump.  I am going to try them on a heavier rod and ski them in and see if that helps.

8" and 68 ROF 12 in rianbow trout for soft swimbait and 8" Century 22 Triple Trout custom painted rainbow trout and Black Dog Wooden Shell Cracker slow sink in hard swimbaits.

also consider Uptons Customs 13" Dragon tail worm a big lure.

@fishwizzard, do you think an 8' 1-4oz will handle that task?

Hard to say what was my rod and what was my poor technique.  I was throwing them on a Fred's Magic Stick (XH/MF, 1/2-2oz) and a MB Hyuga 72H (XH/M, 1/2-4oz) and while the Hyuga is more powerful with a more forgiving taper, the hook on the Huddgill is small and I still struggle to land them consistently unless they are hooked inside the mouth.  I picked up a MB Super Red Demon (XXH/MF, 1/2-8oz) and from the little playing with it I have done I think that I will be able to more easily get really solid hooksets and the rod will have the power to ski most bass in without ever letting the pressure off.

I added a top head size 2 treble hook to Huddgills. If interested PM me and I can email a photo with details.

Thanks, I will!

I have looked into doing it a few times but I have never settled on a good spot to hook the treble.

"40 lb coated stranded wire, A3 crimp sleeves, 1.25 long loop end to loop end.
I use a Snap to attach loop end to Hudd hook eye and 1 treble hook point at the base of the dorsal fine. No longer weedless but strike to hook ratio is 100%"

Tom was nice enough to send it to me and asked that I upload it, so here it is.
