MartinTheFisherman Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Hello, Just wondering what was the cheapest lure that you have ever bought, and where you bought it? Martin Quote
Bassin' Brad Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Stump Jumper on sale at bass pro for $0.70 is one of the cheapest. I've caught bass, crappie and bluegill on it. 1 Quote
Super User J Francho Posted June 4, 2019 Super User Posted June 4, 2019 Least expensive lure per bass caught with it is a Popmax. 1 Quote
cookieman Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 jig hook at walmart worms are free out of the ground, just funning with you because this weekend we fished for gills because bass was slow and using worms caught 4 bass in 2 lb range. it takes alot of worms though 1 Quote
redmexican5081 Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 Beetle spins from Walmart's clearance rack, 2 in the package for $0.50. I cleaned them out and routinely catch small bass and crappie on them when fishing with my kids 1 Quote
Super User WRB Posted June 4, 2019 Super User Posted June 4, 2019 Discount houses like K-Mart, Walmart etc get over stocked often with some very good lures that don't sell at that store location and can't transfer to another store so they dump the stock in bargin bins at the end of the season. If you know what you are looking for there will be some great bargains. Tom 2 1 Quote

I said buy all they have. 2 Quote
Super User Koz Posted June 4, 2019 Super User Posted June 4, 2019 Beetle Spins and cheap $1.00 Wal Mart spinnerbaits. 2 Quote
Black Hawk Basser Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 I haven't dug through a Wal Mart bargain bin in awhile, thanks for the reminders fellas. 1 Quote
Jaderose Posted June 4, 2019 Posted June 4, 2019 H&H Spinnerbaits. Bought a whole bunch of them a few years back and paid less than a buck each for them. Catch a LOT of bass on them and losing them is no big deal. 2 Quote
Global Moderator Bluebasser86 Posted June 5, 2019 Global Moderator Posted June 5, 2019 If you figure up cost per fish, probably a Zman TRD with a homemade head. The jighead cost me less than $.10 to make, a TRD is about $.50 each. Not unusual to catch over 50 on a single one if it's not lost first. 3 Quote
Global Moderator Mike L Posted June 5, 2019 Global Moderator Posted June 5, 2019 Wall Mart 1.00 spinnerbaits. Mike 1 Quote

Compared to a Senko where it's not unusual for the ratio to be one fish for one bait. I love Senkos, but there are many times when the bass tear them off the hook and I reel in the fish and the bait is gone. Or the bass breaches the water and I see the Senko go flying. I wonder if putting a ring of Mend-It around the top near the insertion point on the hook would help strengthen the bait. 1 Quote
Super User fishballer06 Posted June 5, 2019 Super User Posted June 5, 2019 Cheapest bait per fish for me - an old Bill Lewis Rat-L-Trap or a Heddon Zara Spook. 1 Quote
Super User Catt Posted June 5, 2019 Super User Posted June 5, 2019 I've caught fish on all kinds of cheap lures. Beatle Spins, Cheater Worms, H&H spinnerbaits, Renegade Worms (from Walmart), Bitsy Bug Jigs, & others I probably forgot. Quote
Dogface Posted June 5, 2019 Posted June 5, 2019 I love Walmart! I walked into one a few weeks ago. They had a bunch of baits in a basket marked "Closeout" at $1.00 each. They had a few Kast Masters in the basket. They also had them on the rack at about $9.00 plus change. I go to check out at the sporting good counter and explain I found the Kast Masters in the closeout basket and explained that someone may have dropped them in the basket. I also took one off the rack for comparison. The ones from the basket came up at $1.00. The one from the rack came up at $9.00 and change. It was the exact same lure. I also got a Shakespeare bait casting rod for $4.60. For that price I could not leave there. 1 Quote
