@Fastie I live on the Louisiana Gulf Coast where everything is brackish.

We run everything from jon boats to custom built aluminum boats. We also run the same boats in the Gulf. Corrosion on the boat is not an issue, what is an issue is your electronics.

Not your graphs & trolling motor, they're pretty much sealed, look at all the connections & the fuse block. Look at the wiring on the trailer.

You got that right! I lived in Baton Rouge for several years and spent 2-3 days a week in the bayou or Atchafalaya. The last thing you want there is a fiberglass bass boat! Aluminum boats are the way to go. No telling what is just below the surface in the bayou...lol. I had a Fisher (Tracker with different stickers on it) 16' stick steer 40HP Merc. Fantastic boat for one up fishing in the bayou! That thing would run on a wet sponge...lol. The areas around Lake Verret and the I-10 bridge of the Atchafalaya were my stomping grounds. I really miss the bayou!

But after that I've had a Ranger 45th Anniversary Z118, Carolina Skiff JVX20CC, and the Tracker 175TF I have now. And thinking about a Twin Troller X10 or Pelican Bass Raider 10E. I tend to match my boat to the area I'm fishing in.
