Super User NHBull Posted June 3, 2019 Super User Posted June 3, 2019 Gents, I have a Lund with a vinyl flooring and was wounding if anyone knows or uses a pad to stand of to elevate some back and leg stress. Was wondering if the commercial kitchen pads may be an option. Thanks for any input, Al Quote
r83srock Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Maybe keep a yoga mat in the boat? I’m going to redo my boat in deck it, which has some cushion compared to carpet. I don’t think I’ll miss carpet. Honestly good shoes help a lot. I never valued that, standing in crappy flip flops all the times, until I started having issues of course. Quote
Rodney Smith Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 I just put down Hydroturf I my boat and I love it. It comes in various size sheets and has a 3M backing, so it is easy to install. It is soft and quietens down the boat. I fish barefoot now most of the time. Quote

Did you put padding down first, or just hydroturf? Quote
Rodney Smith Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 Just Hydroturf. I got the 5 mm. You can find thicker materials on line if you want something thicker, but I think that thickness is the standard for materials like Hydroturf, Seadek, etc. I bought 3 large sheets, cut them and did my whole boat. Rodney Smith Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 If you only want something for where you stand, you can get a helm pad. I thought about a kitchen mat, but I’m not sure they would hold up to the elements. http://www.seadek.com/p-782-dual-density-helm-station-pads-small.aspx 1 Quote
Lottabass Posted June 3, 2019 Posted June 3, 2019 There is a mat that is used in animal pens (I think) that farm and ranch stores sell. I put hydro turf in my boat but I think these mats may have an application..... 1 Quote

There are a ton of options out there in various thickness, densities, and materials. Quote
