Looking for a rod around 7' to throw some senkos, flukes, shakey heads, and light t rigs in the 1/8-3/16 range.

I am torn between

-poison adrena 611M+

-Orochi XX DSR

I realize that I may not get ahold of the adrena for a while but was wondering if anyone has experience with that rod or its JDM counterpart, the 610m.  I feel like that rod may have a different action, though.

I have a 66M+ ALZ Zolo, but I find the rod too short for decent hooksets at 20 yards and up, and less sensitive than I had hoped. I want somethng longer and more sensitive.

I can’t help you with those two, but I don’t think you could go wrong with a St. Croix Legend Tournament 7’1” MF. True medium power, true fast action. Balanced, light, quality all the way through.

Tatula Elite M/MH AGS imo, it's my favorite rod that does 90% of everything I throw.

Check out the Enigma line of rods

I bought the 6'11" spinning rod and I love it ( $104.00 )

it also has a life time warranty ( believe $40.00 replacement )

I'm tired of buying $300 plus rods that break after time and your out big bucks

good luck

I don't know what rods you were previously fishing but most high end rod companies have lifetime warranties as well and the others have great warranties. Buy the best you can afford and have fun!

That use to be true

Shimano:  Cumura, they no longer replace rods

Kistler: no replacement warranty

Megabass : no replacement warranty

just to name a few

I do own six G loomis rods because of the replacement policy.

its just my opinion Enigma has a nice line up for the price and a replacement policy.

True, I feel like I would need to buy a diawa reel for it though.

Not really a spinning rod guy at all, honestly.

I've been pretty happy with my KastKing Perigree II dual tip.  If you don't mind a 2-piece, it's a really nice rod for the money.  The one I got is a 7' ML/M fast.  The ML tip is rated for 1/8 to 3/8 and the M tip 1/4 to 3/4.  I took it out Saturday evening with my Black Max 1600 and was throwing 1/8 tube jigs and 1/4oz Heddon Torpedoes a good distance.

Alphas CT 70 would go perfectly with it! I have an Alphas SV105 on it, and I can cast a 3/8oz and paddletail a mile with it, or senko, and then throw on a 1/8 trout spinner and throw it a decent distance. That rod (rated 1/8oz-1oz) and an SV reel is so versatile.

I like!  :teeth:  I am thinking about putting one of my 1600s on a ML.

Have you done any mods to the reel yet?  My suggestions, Abu clutch washer part no. 22567 and a set of Rocket brake blocks part no. 22565.  The clutch washer is a little different than the stock one.  The pins are narrower to accommodate the smaller blocks.  The bad news, the Rocket brake blocks don't snap on to the pins like the blue/black/white blocks do on stock clutch washer.  They slide very free and are easy to lose if you aren't careful during disassembly/reassembly.  These are the brake blocks found on the 4500CS/5500CS/6500CS Pro Rocket.  The difference in weight is about the same as the difference between the black blocks and light blue blocks.  The blue blocks are a nice upgrade from the factory white ones, but for a few bucks you can get a little more out of it.

Thanks.  Have upgraded bearings for one and new drags for all, but haven't replaced anything yet.

Love my Poison Adrena 1610M, but it would be lighter and a bit shorter than I would want for Senkos/Flukes/shakyheads.  The 611M+ probably would be great, if you can find it.

Just my perspective

Thats what I thought about the 610m. It may be tough to find though, as you said.

Are you talking about the Gen 1 Orochii DSR, or the Gen 2 Whipsnake? Either way, those are on the extreme end of ML ( Megabass 3 power). Step up to the Orochi XX Shakeyhead, or if you don't mind the extra length, the Enforcer. I have a Destroyer Addermine (3.5 power), and it's as light as I'd go for light TRigs and flukes (depending on how you rig them). I still put that rod squarely in ML territory

I mean the F5-72XX Diablo Spec R, not a drop shot rod.

I have the levante shakyhead and it's perfect for senkos and flukes.

The Spec R is in my opinion too much rod for what you are looking for.

Agreed. I love the Oneten Special from Megabass. Its a great versatile rod for shakeyheads, topwater, jerkbaits, and even weightless senkos. It's versatility is impressive and sensitivity is ??

So it looks like the Diablo is out.  I am thinking of throwing the Legend Extreme 7MF and GLX MBR 842 into the discussion, with the megabass jerkbait rods and adrena M+.

It would be nice to use the rod for traps as well, so I am curious about the legend extreme as that taper might be the most versatile.

Though about it some more, and am probably going to get a Levante Jerkbait special.  Do you guys think I could put  Chronarch on that rod and throw ned rigs?

The Levante and XX Jerkbait Special are awesome. The OneTen Special is a super sweet rod too. Youll like them a ton. Very happy with them.

If your budget is limited I would look at the St. Croix Mojo Bass or Premier.  If it's not then the Legend line of rods is awesome.
