Should I drain the fuel every time or just when I'm not going out for a while the motor is a merc black max 200 built in 1989 2 stroke

Since I got the boat used and growing up around boats I was always told to run it out of fuel before taking it out of the water.

but with  me using it 2 times a week do I still have to do that

or just when I store it for winter

like thats going to happen I  live in sunny Calif LOL!!!!!

I don't run the gas out as long as I know I'll be out soon but I do invest in Gold Eagle STA-BIL products   :)

I never run the gasoline out of my motor.  I only buy it 20-30 gallons at a time so it is seasonal and fresh.

I don't run it out at all. In the winter I fill it up so there is less room for condensation. I do add Sta-Bil if it is going to be laid up a long time.

I'm sorry I think I asked the wrong question.

What I was trying to say at the end of the day do I shut off my fuel to the motor, And run it dry? And then I found a web site that said never do that if you have more then one carb. The top carb will drain first this not allowing oil and fuel to lube cylinders..

Do not shut the fuel off and run the motor dry. turn the key off and forget about it. Use Staybil to treat your fuel and you should have no problems. If you run the fuel out of the carbs I would think it might cause a chance of drying gaskets. JMO

Funny timing. I have been real busy and neglected my snow blower this year and did not drain the fuel in it yet. Man if I wait a little longer I mite be using it again. i bought a floor model a while back with no manual, so I recently downloaded one off the internet. While I was going over it I noticed in the owners manual that they do not want  you to drain fuel if you use a fuel stabilizer. There was no explanation why, just says do not drain fuel if using stabilizer. Does anybody have any feedback on how long fuel will stay good with stabilizer in it?
