I bought a 100-pack of GYCB Senko 'seconds' about 7 years back that had some minor flaws to the laminate coloring process. They were supposed to be watermelon on top and white on the bottom (Baby Bass), but it was disproportionate or kinda swirled, so they were being sold for about half-price in bulk.

Does anyone know where more of the seconds are being sold?

Thanks, Joe

I bought like a 100 pack from Tacklewarehouse a few years back. I don't believe they were seconds.

Haven't seen them since.

Try calling or emailing Susquehanna Fishing Tackle. I use to get 100ct bags of Berkley Power worms "blemished", They never advertised them and I don't ever remember seeing anyone else carrying them. I don't ever recall ever seeing a GYCB bait let alone a Senko being sold as seconds but it never hurts to ask.

Odd that a batch of "Seconds" made it to the market.  If they were sold by an individual then I could see it because as pro-staff, we were able to get seconds in 100 count bags.  It's not cool though as those baits were never meant to get out to the public because they failed Yamamoto's QC standards.  As a staff member, I am not allowed to sell my baits....ever, it's in violation of my contract.  I got the exact laminate seconds you are referencing (color 901) and can no longer get them.  Per Yamamoto, they have refined the laminate process and no longer get mistakes.  Yamamoto did experiment at one time selling "Bulk" pacs, they were even on their website and available at some retailers but they do not sell them anymore, they were not seconds.  There may be some bulk packs still floating around out there on ebay or from private sellers.  Just be careful as there have been some unscrupulous sellers that claim to have original Senko's in bulk but they are knockoffs.  Many times any bait that looks like a Senko is sold as such.  Senko has become a generic term for that style bait.

I would love to get bulk packs of Senko's.

There is a TruValue in Bettendorf IA that sold these 5" black ring worms with a white single curl tail. They sold all their plastic worms by weight. I bought the 10lbs bag one year and over a two year period, used every single worm. LB and SB hated that worm.

Interesting. I bet that's what happened. It was some East Coast online retailer with a shady looking site, and they had bulk packs of mostly unpopular colors. I think the other was pumpkin with a chartreuse tail. They were 100 for $25 plus $5 to ship. These were the real deal. Nothing else feels like a real Senko, and they have the logo in the mold.
