Well here I am 30yrs old ( been bass fishing since I was 11). Yes I know I'm young ya old farts! Anyhow my question is why do I remember those jar pork baits catching bigger fish then what I use now or am I just stuck in the past when things were a lot better and you actually had to know someone to teach you how to fish not just watch it on YouTube

You have a few options to use pork rind jig trailers: look around mom & pop tackle shops with old inventory or make your own. The past 5 years I make my own.

Pork trailers lost there popularity becuase they are ugly with no glitter and messy to use requiring keeping them wet with the old pig & jig blankets ( now called lure wraps ).

Pork rind trailer work, I still use them year around.

I have a lot of Uncle Josh pork trailers. I found them for $2/jar about 10 years ago so I cleaned the guy out. I went through all the jars and saved the best ones in a Mason jar with my own super salty brine. I haven't opened that jar and the are still pristine. I think I might use some this year. I also have a lot of the Uncle Josh Meat chunks.

Pork catches pigs.

I hate that they stopped making them. It makes a difference and catches bigger fish without a doubt in some situations, but I can't afford to pay the flippers out there now to buy them.

Since I just started getting back into bass fishing about a month ago, I was at Dick's and I thought to myself "where are the uncle josh jars?". Didn't know until about 2 weeks ago that they don't make them anymore.

I have several jars of 11's and 101's? (small ones) but really miss the jumbo - with a little sharp knive work we used them as topwaters and caught really big bass for our area.
