I managed to get three bass before this happened.  They were sitting just outside of the submerged vegetation, probably watching the bluegill beds.  Ended up going to the E.R.  Funny thing is this is the same lake I was on when my back seized up three weeks ago.

You have done some thing to make those fish mad at you. I think you need to find a new place to fish. Hope you are doing okay and things get better for soon.

The string method would have popped that loose.

And the net method prevents it.

A quick trip to the ER and a couple of cuts with a scalpel, and I'm good as new.

I once got hooked in my index finger trying to untangle a bunch of idiots lines. I just gritted my teeth and pulled it right out as quick as I could.

Vision 110 past the barb in my index finger last weekend. Happened right after I thought to myself "you know I should really get the pliers...nah"

Note to self - the barb is on the outside of the vision stock hooks. And there's no way to just work out out like you do in a bass mouth, finger is too thick. I tried.

When faced with the rest of the day in the ER, or yankin' it out, I chose to yank. Didn't hurt nearly as bad as trying to just pull it out with pressure. Sure am glad it was those tiny hooks.

Got hooked  in the forearm with one of those big ol whopper ploppers. Me and my friend took turns trying to pull it out but it wouldn't budge, ended up pushing it through and used a wire cutter to break the barb off. I should've done that from the start, we ended up mangling the muscles in my arm quite a bit. Took a few days before I could use my hand properly again.
