I'm just starting to use a bobber stop to minimize the movement of a worm weight up my line. When I cut off the hook to fish another type of lure my bobber stop is still on a short length of line, but I don't have a loop in it to then transfer it to use again. I know I can be a cheap sonofagun and reuse stuff but part of it is I hate to throw away something that still seems perfectly serviceable.

Other than just keeping it on your line when you fish other lures, I don't think there is much you can do. Even if there was, it would probably be more trouble than it would be worth.

Not that bobber stops are expensive, but it saves time when replacing hooks.

If you are using heavy line, sometimes it is difficult to get the bobber stop over the knot.

There are a few ways I have researched on youtube. I hate to be "that guy" and say look it up, but I have seen different methods by doing just that.  Good luck

If your are going to use them same setup I would slide the bobber stop on down the line, cut off any bad line, add my sinker and tie on the new hook.

this does work. I do it all of the time.

X2. It can take some time getting used to doing this, but it will save you money down the road, which means more money for the Bait Monkey!!

Just slide it up your main line past where you want to retie, then slide it back down.

I've got the same one on my punch rig for almost a year.

Hate to be the THAT GUY but the day I worry about re-using bobber stops is the day I realize I can't afford to bass fish.

I am typically this frugal also so I don't blame the OP for asking, but here:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06ZZHKWF4/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_search_asin_title?ie=UTF8&psc=1

100 for $6.99 and they work great.  I've used them two seasons now.  I'm frugal but also smart enough to know when I'm wasting time that could be spent doing something else.  LOL  Or if you reuse these you will be the most frugal person on the planet!

I bought these as well and they work great! 6 bucks and I never have to worry about running out, not having any with me if I go out in the yak or fish from shore and carry limited tackle with.

Highly recommend buying these or something like these.

I was going to suggest Amazon as my wife picked me up like 800 of the rings for $12 shipped. There are so many I just give them away.

I don't mind being that guy. You can get 600 on ebay for $5.69 shipped to your door.

Spray line conditioner on the line and bobber stop then slide off. Put the removed stop in a bag and save it. Push the original wire loop when you get home through the saved stop and reuse it.

The video knot trick will work it will also damage your line, bobber stop isn't worth screwing your line up.

Last year I began using the 6th Sense itty bitty rubber  bobber stoppers and they have worked really well for "pegging" slip sinkers.  If a hook/bait change is needed they slide up the line easily and reposition effectively.
