MartinTheFisherman Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 Hello, I really need help with this new lake I will be fishing for this weekend. I have never fished this lake and wondering if anyone ever has on here. The lake is Otter Lake in Greenfield, New Hamshire. Anyone know if the fish there are spawning and if the lake has a rocky bottom etc... What baits should I use for a lake like this? https://www.wildlife.state.nh.us/maps/bathymetry/otter_greenfield.pdf Any help is greatly appreciated, Martin Sierra Quote
Super User J Francho Posted May 15, 2019 Super User Posted May 15, 2019 This is a pond, about a half mile wide, and a little over a mile long, with what looks to be 3 miles of shoreline. You could literally fish the entire shoreline, and cover most of the water in a half day. Where to fish will be less important than what to fish with. Just let the cover dictate what you use, and fish. No bites, keep moving - pond fishing 101. Good luck, and have fun. 1 Quote
redmexican5081 Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 I doubt you will have any fish spawning yet. They may be staging but the water should still be too cold for them to be on beds. The lake bottom question I can't help with because I've never fished it, but google earth shows a sandy looking bottom by the launch on the south end and lily pads (shallow soft bottom?) on the north end. 1 Quote
