My Rapala RipStop is my first jerkbait and it has really been working well for me this season. I have the 4 3/4" model which is the largest. Specs says it runs 4' to 5' although mine always seem to be about 1' down, which is fine as I'm mostly throwing it toward the bank.

I want to throw more jerkbaits, perhaps something slightly larger and maybe goes down 2' to 3'?

Any suggestions?

I can recommend without hesitation I might add,

The Strike King KVD 300 and for a slightly deeper option, the 300 deep.

Ayu & Perch are both killer patterns.

If you're looking perhaps, to kick it up another notch,

The Megabass Vision 110 and 110+1 are both superior performers.

btw - the GP Pro Perch pattern should be illegal is most every state.

The jerkbait was the first hard bait I had confidence in. I use the Rapala Shadow Rap and X-Rap. I also enjoy the Megabass Vision 110, Strike King KVD and Spro McStick 110.

Vision 110's and 110+1 are solid and worth getting a few, but you have to check out the Duo Realis 110sp. Premium baits with excellent paint jobs, good hooks, and great action and sound. And they are 10$ less than the Visions. If you had a jerbait box with some 110's, 110+1's, and Duo 110 and 100 DR (deep runner) you will be set. If you want to expand later (which you will haha) you can add 110 jr's, 110+2, and some Duo 120 baits.

Will second this. First jerkbait I bought was the ripstop. Following week was a couple of 110’s. Haven’t looked back since. They’re awesome

I really like the Jackall Rerange that I started throwing this spring.  The lure has great action and the sound of the magnetic weight transfer system is peculiarly satisfying to hear.

I started using the academy H2O express ultimate jerk shad this year. It cost $5.99 at academy sports.

it is 4.5 inches long and weighs 1/2 ounce. it is sold as a floater but it actually suspends. It dives around 4 foot.

I still have a few Yozuri, Duo and Megabass jerkbaits, but the H2O gets used the most.

At the sub 5' mark, my favorite jerkbait is a Baker, a little deeper is the Ima Flit 120.  I have a number of Rapalas and Koppers Livetarget baits, but I probably haven't caught even 1 fish on a few of them.  I don't go out in sub-50 degree water, but the guys I know who are really good with jerkbaits like the Vision and Pointer lines.

I finally started throwing jerk baits this year. I have a ton of rapala's in the smaller to medium sizes and did ok mainly in the rivers.  I have started buying smithwick rogues perfect ten and the pro model and have had good success plus they are about 6.99 a piece.  Recently I bought a 3 pack of KVD deep diving 300's in chrome blue, clear ayu and chrome gold.  the chrome blue has been on fire until I think a northern pike took it so I need to re order that one.  I was hesitant on the more expensive jerk baits but, now im becoming a believer.  I would like to try the mega bass offering's

I have to pimp the Dynamic Lures J spec here. It's a finesse option at 3.5" and needs spinning gear, but it suspends perfectly and has the right balance of dart and random action for a coldwater option for pressured or turned off bass. Runs down to 4 to 5 feet.

I have plenty of LC, Duo, Megabass, Raps....Shadow Rap may be best out of package value...hooks, suspend, price, etc.

Two lines that have not been mentioned, but have been surprisingly good for me:

1. Smithwick Rogues; will almost never suspend how you want out of package, but that has meant that I have played with suspend dots on these a lot and learned much.  Cheapest option I'd consider.

2.  LiveTarget - (not bait ball style...smelt or perch something); I had mostly written off LT lures as gimmicky stuff that is targeted at the uninformed Dicks shopper...not serious bass fishermen....silly, sure....but that's where my head was at....for one of these as a gift and it performs and produces as well or better than my Pointers and Visions.  I will be buying more of these.

I agree with your above mentions, i like you, also recommend a smithwick rogue style jerkbait - my fav are discontinued Xcallibur Xs4/EE4's but you could also use a Rapala husky Jerk or any of the smithwick options - they have a different action, more roll and less slashing than other "twitchy" jerkbaits like a vision 110 or Pointer.

Also like to tack on the live target lures are great quality! Their lipless crankbait is my fav and catches fish like crazy. I haven't tried their jerkbaits yet but I'll give one a try!
