BoatSquirrel Posted May 13, 2019 Posted May 13, 2019 OK glide bait guys, a question about the 806. Dobyns website says 2-8 oz, but at what weight does this rod really max out? I am looking for a 200 size glide bait rod, somewhere in the 4-5 oz range. Also considering the IRods Genesis2 in 8’ H moderate action. Thanks yall! Quote
Super User WRB Posted May 13, 2019 Super User Posted May 13, 2019 About 6- 7 oz lures for the 806SB and 5 oz for G2 Irod H, 807SB or XH is a better choice for lures over 5 oz to 7 oz range..... treble hook glides use Mono/coploy line. Both powers will work OK. Tom 1 Quote
Super User NorcalBassin Posted May 14, 2019 Super User Posted May 14, 2019 Agree with Tom's take on the 806. It's an excellent glide bait rod and you could push it to 8 as long as you're not too aggressive with your cast. 1 Quote

snorryhobo Posted May 15, 2019 Posted May 15, 2019 if you plan on buying a 806SB check out my thread, i'm having issues with the reel seat being loose on a brand new rod. Quote
