Leader for Froggin'?

Do any of you use a mono/copoly leader to braid for frog fishing? If so, what pound test? So far I've always tied straight braid but just wondered if there are other ways.

Nope.  No reason to use any type of leader.  Straight braid all the time.

Thats 2 for straight braid with a frog.  Only reason to use a leader with a topwater is braid can wrap in trebles and props.

dont see the point of using braid at all for this. Doesnt cast well, expensive, knots sometimes slip, get hung and pull hard to get it out,,, next cast line bites like snot, no need for sensitivity,, plus half the time braid is too stiff and gives no flex for fish to get lure. 17-20lb decent mono is cheaper, casts better, and will drag most fish outa most stuff.  Screw braid,,, only thing I find it usefull for is carolina rigging and sluggo's where u are slow fishing and really need to feel everything. IMO only advantage of braid is sensitivity. Something of ZERO use on top

I don't use leaders on any of my rigs whether it's braid, FC or Mono.

Straight braid always. It's lets you cast super far, floats, is super limp to allow you to work the frog, and has no stretch allowing for better hook sets.

braid casts better, lasts way longer so it isn't more expensive, well tied knots don't slip, pull hard to get out, really lol, won't bite in if you spool it right, flex isn't as big a deal in the slop when you are trying to pull fish out as quick as possible

I will take braid, and so will pretty much everyone else when frog fishing, best tool for the job.

Straight braid .. to much stretch with anything else when your setting the hook on a fish with 10 pounds of slop

I never use leaders.  Straight 50lb Seaguar Kanzen line for froggin' works flawlessly for me.

I'm not a big fan of braid for most things but use it 100% of the time for frogging. Frogging and punching vegetation are the 2 things I feel braid is absolutely perfect for. You need the strength and no stretch to get fish out of cover quickly and for hooksets on long casts. I've never had issue with knots, stiffness or breakoffs, getting hung up does suck but not really an issue with frogs.

I would never even consider a leader for frogs. Just a connection you have to worry about. I want to be able to just jack those hooks straight in and horse the fish where I need it to go. Plus if you get hung up or caught it's not a point of weakness.

Only 2 instances I'll use a leader, for a Carolina Rig or when I'm in the Gulf of Mexico!

OK I use leaders.... trout fishing, wire leader for toothy fish and heavy leaders for Marlin to prevent bill cutting the line. Bass fishing 2 knots to fail are unnecessary, prefer main line to lures. Frogs used in heavy cover I use 60 lb Finns braid to cut through cover and open water or cover edges prefer 25 lb Armillo mono.

Wouldn't use a leader for this. Braid is quite good because there is no stretch and it has the ability to cut through vegetation much better than other types of line. This feature makes it much better when fishing near weeds/grass or pads. The no stretch also helps with the fact that its much more difficult to get a solid hookset with a frog hook than a normal EWG per say.

Nope. The only time I use a leader with braid is on my spinning reels. That's more for abrasion resistance than anything.

I rather not use a leader but im not going to cut off a leader if its already tied on. I use 1 rod for many applications

I use straight braid, in and around cover and in open water. I don't have enough reels to switch them out between braid and mono. If there's a visibility issue, I haven't run into it.
