Armtx77 Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 My first bait caster was a AbuGarcia BlackMax, lefty, because my spinning rod was lefty. There were few options in the early 90's. Im glad I can get just about any baitcaster in lefty. Quote
Yumeya Posted May 9, 2019 Posted May 9, 2019 If you use your left hand it feels like someone else ? All my reels are left hand.... 1 Quote

Scuba Steve Posted May 9, 2019 Author Posted May 9, 2019 Thanks for all the replies. I guess the main question was do you feel you lack anything by holding the rod in your less dominant hand? I’m not saying I’m looking to conform, or do what the crowd is doing or blah blah... I have a brain and of course I’m going to fish what feels best. I was just curious is all. Im staying reeling righty. Got my hands on a lefty since posting and I dont think its for me. Lots of good answers though! Quote
Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 10, 2019 Super User Posted May 10, 2019 Being right handed, I cast with my right, and wind with my left. Why change hands.? Quote
Scuba Steve Posted May 10, 2019 Author Posted May 10, 2019 Yeah the mechanics on a left handed reel is the issue for me. Turning the handle feels funky. And thats something that I can’t get past. I’d rather switch hands every cast. Quote
