LongJohn87 Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I am a Daiwa guy, always have been. Looking for a new spinning reel; Daiwa has a nice selection of them. Deciding between the Exceler Lt, Fuego Lt, and the Tatula Lt. I think i'd take out the Exceler from the conversation, but is the Tatula worth nearly double the price of the Fuego? Quote

d-camarena Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I have 4 daiwa revros, they are awsome for $50. I really recommend them Quote
ike8120 Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I purchased 2 KK Sharky lll not a bad reel for the price. I personally like them and are perfect for the fishing I do. Others may say if it isn't a name brand then you are buying junk. "it is not whats best , but whats best for you" 1 Quote
The Bassman Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Daiwa just released a new Procyon LT which looks like the best bang for the buck. It has the Zaion frame like the Tatula. All the LT's are very nice. I have two Fuegos and they are very good. 2 Quote
NathanDLTH Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 I've owned the Fuego, Tatula, and now Ballistic LT. Between the three there's no wrong answer, add in the Procyon LT and the market is flooded. I don't see the point of going beyond the Ballistic LT, sure if you wanna spend 400+ on a Certate or Exist go for it. Best bang for the buck Tatula LT imo. Quote

Super User Hammer 4 Posted May 5, 2019 Super User Posted May 5, 2019 I bought the 2500 fuego for my 7' med spinning rod. In the past I've owned all Shimano reels, from their middle of the road to the upper end reels. Imho the Diawa is every bit as smooth, cast's very well, drag is very good. I think for the $$ it's a great buy. Based on this reel, I'm sticking with Diawa. Quote
Super User Boomstick Posted May 5, 2019 Super User Posted May 5, 2019 I'm a huge fan of the Daiwa BG personally. If you don't mind the extra ~2.5 ounces over a Tatula LT, it's a great reel at an easily affordable price. No issues at all with drag, line twist or losing loops on the spool (I own the 2000 size and it has Sunline SX1 12lb braid on it which is the diameter of most 15lb braid for what it's worth). 1 Quote
928JLH Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 My Fuego LT 2500 has been pretty good. Really smooth consistent drag. Do get a lot more line twist compared to a BG 2500 I had (excellent reel). Fuego is a pretty good choice considering $70ish on eBay. Quote

Just one thing (other than the mag-seal that keeps you from servicing them) the gripes me. The line lay can be top heavy out of the box and it's not particularly easy to correct. Had it happen on my second one. I've heard others discuss this. 1 Quote
