Has anyone picked up the new levante 2019s? Thoughts on its weight, load quality, and handle/grip?

I'm thinking about that Jerkbait Special. Maybe with a Curado 70 or chronarch mgl..recommendations? For those fortunate enough to have both, how would you compare it to a Zodias?

Thanks, guys!

Can't speak to all, but the jerkbait special is exceptional and I have it paired with a Chronarch and Met MGL.....It is also good for flatsides, light topwaters and most treble hook presentations

Was looking to throw topwater too, so glad to hear that. Would you throw a squarebill on it?

Seems to be sold out everywhere i look but i think i'm going to have to pick it up.

I'm rocking a new Levante Perfect Pitch this year. Jury is still out on it. I plan on using it for power shot and magdrafts.

I picked up a Levante Shakyhead as soon as they dropped and it's amazing! Keep in mind this is the nicest rod I have so I can not compare it to any of the similar rods at this price point.

I picked up the EMTF on sale a couple weeks ago and have to say I was very impressed with the quality of the new generation. It's not on the level of the Destroyers, but at that price point it competes with any rod out there.

I have the Diablo Spec R and I am impressed as well..

I like the reel seat better than the Zodias and I would give the edge in sensitivity to the Levante. To me, it's about equal to or a little better than the KLX.

American Legacy has them in stock.

I have the new perfect pitch and diablo spec r. I also have 4 zodias of different flavors. The two lines really remind me a lot of each other honestly.  I do really like the new levantes, I’m in love with the perfect pitch. I prefer the real seats on the levantes. The build quality is what you’d expect from megabass. They’re very sensitive and a dream to fish but I don’t think you could really go wrong with either line of rods.

You on youtube? Think I commented on your vid based on this setup.

Seems people like the 2019 a lot. I have the older model leviathan swimbait rod and they make the old stuff sound like poopie. It's a swimbait rod so it's not something I have a lot of models to compare it to like my worm rods so it works fine to me. I have one other swimbait rod and it's way different in terms of design and weight range.

Here is a 2019 comment from another forum

"I was not a fan of the first generation Levante rods but I am a fan of the current generation Levante rods. The improvement is significant! In my experience, the 2019 Levante rods are easily in the upper echelon of sensitivity at that $200 price point. In my hands, they are clearly more sensitive than Zodias or E6X rods, and compare favorably to some of the well under $200 Tatula rods. The feedback we've gotten from customers has been extremely positive in terms of the overall performance and sensitivity. Quite a few guys have already ordered additional rods!"

I now have the leviathan and flatside special. Really liking them so far in both performance and looks, pretty impressive at their price

I have the drop shot rod and love it so far.

i've got the new model perfect pitch, and it's a pretty nice rod. balance & weight are good, and it looks fantastic. i'm not comfortable with the reel seat though. in its defense, my favorite reel seats are the older daiwas with none or not much exposed blank.  if there's too much exposed, it hurts my hand during a days time fishing.

How does the 2019 Levante stack up against the Orochi and Destroyer in regards to blank responsiveness and action...?

I am hoping the Levante is 'slower' in action than the Orochi and Destroyer since its at a lower price point. From my experience in bass fishing so far...I have noticed that the lower price point rods are usually made with a lower quality blank like IM6/IM7 or 25-30Ton. These rods usually feel slower in action compared to higher end rods with a higher quality blank that usually feel crisper and faster.

I like fishing braid to a leader for a lot of techniques/baits so I am hoping by going with the lower price point levantes that the action will be slower and therefore be able to absorb and deaden the braid so I don't lose fish.

They're a hot item at the moment. Seem to be sold out everywhere. But Since I sold my Dobyns 685cb, I've been keeping and eye out on the new Levante Jerkbait Special. That'll be my next order.

The new revised lineup is a huge improvement over the previous rods.  Lighter, less tip heavy, better blank, better guides, and a nicer reel seat/lock nut.

Ordered a Jerkbait Special today.  Now which reel to put on it...maybe SV103P or SS SV103SH.

Just picked up the Perfect Pitch. As has been said, it is an exceptional rod for the money. I need an XXH swimbait rod & the Leviathan will be next.

I'm a St Croix addict and almost every rod on my kayak is an AvidX.  That being said I now have a Brailist and absolutely love it with a Perfect Pitch on the way!

So, the Jerkbait Special is officially on the way. Plan to pair it with my new Scorpion MGL that just came in....such a delicious looking reel. A tad heavier than id like though.

I’m a recovering St.Croixaholic... I think you’ll find many rods (including Megabass) to be less tip heavy and cumbersome than the MH and H St. Croix Rods.

I have a Braillist and Perfect Pitch and they put the AvidX to shame IMO. So do all the Daiwa Tatulas for $50 less.
