Sea.Em.1998 Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 The best way to describe Wisconsin water is tea-stained water. Being in northwest Wisconsin and that's how many lakes, streams, rivers, ponds, and other water sources are colored around here. With stained water, what's the best color for a plastic worm to buy? I currently have green pumpkin YUM Dingers and black and blue Mann's Jelly Worm. Quote
Super User bowhunter63 Posted May 3, 2019 Super User Posted May 3, 2019 Used to do really good when I lived up there on purple fire tail. Mann’s jelly worm. Quote
Fishingmickey Posted May 3, 2019 Posted May 3, 2019 I've had good luck in Maine, semi clear tannin colored (tea) waters also. I used the KVD Fat baby finesse in Dirt and Red bug. FM Dirt is a two colored, light brown on bottom and dark green back, Red bug is more like a red plum color with green flake. Quote
papajoe222 Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 Green pumpkin/red flake, or watermelon/black flake, unless you know the lake bottom is muck, then I'd say PB&J, or purple Quote
Super User Further North Posted May 19, 2019 Super User Posted May 19, 2019 I fish Cornell Lake too (it's 10 minutes out my door), and for soft plastics, I'd go watermelon red flake. Lake Holcomb and the Cornell flowage are both part of the Chip...green anything'll work. Quote
