problem in flushing my Mercury 150hp SeaPro Outboard engine using the Flushing connector

Greeting,

I have a problem in flushing my Mercury 150hp SeaPro Outboard engine using the Flushing connector which is in the engine, and also I have tried:
- DC water pump 12v 7.7L/M with 25 PSI
- DC water pump 12v 7.5L/M with 160 PSI
- City water hose

None of the above success.

after I started the pump for maybe 2 minutes it stars to flow from the propeller side only but not from the pee stream.

I have tried the tilted & Vertical position.

Please help I am using the engine without flushing it and its a problem keeping salt water inside.

Was it peeing before you shut it down the last time you used it? How long ago was the last time you used it? This could be as simple as the pee hole being plugged or could be something more like your impeller not working.

Water usually bye passes the power head until the thermostat opens, that could be the lag time you have. The pee hole indicates the water pump is working and it is more then likely plugged by a insect (spider). If used in salt water the problem could corrosion, not good.

Yes, everything works perfectly. my engine is brand new mercury still 10 hours of working time.

 

The pee streams flow without any problem while running, the problem is only while flushing the engine from the "Connector" using dc motor and water in tank of my boat.

So if I came from the trip and the engine is normally cold 120-140 F degree is it fine to flush it only until I see the water comes from the prop while the trip is all the way up? or is it important to do the flushing until I see the pee stream flowing the water perfectly?

On my old Yamaha I had to tape shut part of the water intakes when using the "earmuffs" to provide cooling water because with them open the water didn't rise to the water pump. It just went out those vents, which were low.   Any chance of something similar being a factor here?

Fresh water use you don't need to flush out the engine, only salt or brackish water needs to be flushed out with fresh water. I am not sure how your engine operates regarding the flush out port verses the water pump intake using ears? I believe using the flush connector port works without the engine running and don't exceed 45 psi.

You better hope you didn't damage anything running 160psi of water thru it.

Yes, almost the similar thing, in fact, I have an additional thermostat as well & maybe you did remove it in Yamaha to avoid the heat sensor.

Yes, connector port running the flush with the engine off for sure.

 

Sure will return to my old water pump which is 25 PSI.

My Yamaha only had one stat and I removed nothing.  

 

I have never seen that engine or my newer Merc run on the water without peeing, regardless of temperature.  I always assumed that there was a stat bypass that ran a healthy stream of water whether the stat was open or closed.  Obviously, I'm no expert.

Your information given is mostly similar to the dealer in my country.

 

I will assume as well that I am getting good flushing for now till the first service will show if it's good or bad flushing.

You know when the stat opens with water coming out, the pee stream means the water pump is working. If you attach a flush out hose or ears the hose water pressure pushes water through if the pump is working or not.
