Hi everyone. First time poster. OK so today at work on my lunch break I caught this largemouth and it’s the biggest one I ever caught. I was by myself So it was difficult to take a good photo with my phone.

Anyone Know roughly what this guy might weigh? Note my hand as a scale of reference for size. Also note that most people hold the fish close to the camera and far away from their body to get the illusion of a grander size fish. Where as I had to do the opposite to get the fish in frame of the camera so I held it close to me.

Ok thanks guys and any and all guesses are welcome!

Honestly, this is not a good picture to judge weight. I’d guess 3-5 lbs, probably closer to the high side.

Between 2 and 12.  Maybe 3 ....maybe even 4.....or....could be ?????  No amount of guesses is here is going to help much, I'm afraid.    Without a scale, at least provide length and girth and we may get into the ballpark

Hard to tell from the photo....Mike Iaconelli would call that a monster bass!

12. You'll get there eventually anyway, no sense in prolonging the agony... :)

That is an almost impossible picture to estimate weight with, no real reference points.

One of these day someone will use line to measure their bass.

Simple you have it on your reel. Cut a piece to measure length , mouth closed and a second piece for the girth, tie a over hand knot on the girth piece of line, put both in your pocket and measure the pieces when you get home.

Length X Length X girth divided by 1200 = weight in lbs within 10%.

Or someone might invent a set of scales that you could take with you and weigh the fish.

Bummer you didn’t take measurements, more photos, and have a scale, because I’m certain you for sure let the new world record bass go! How does it feel to hold a million dollars and then watch it swim away?

Some anglers will spend money on tons of baits, multiple rods and reels for every presentation and special holiday dates, tackle bags, bait storage at home, specialized apparel for fishing, boats, trailers, and new vehicles to tow them with but they won't spend $30-$60 for a scale. SMH

$7 at DSG - easily fits in a pocket. Never a need to be without a ruler/scale

I have 3 of those all completely rusted! They bring back good memories though. The measuring tapes don’t even work. I might need to haul off some trash ........

That's a generic version of the old Zebco De-Liar. Never could get the hook to hold in the fish's mouth.
