I have a couple different Lucky Pointers and S-Wavers that are all priced at $18.99

I lost half of one of the pointers after a couple chain pickerels took a run at it. Pulled it a few pickerels, but they were doing doing a number in the lure. After another hit or two,  I reeled in the pointer to find it was missing the back half. I throw the bombers now if the pickerels are wanting to play. ?

A SPRO Rat I think. It catches bass. At least it has on one trip. I think it was about $17 at the time. I see they're over $20 now.

I also have a Savage Gear Glide. It hasn't produced a thing yet.

I have a G2 Shellcracker wake bait that was like $19, haven't lost it yet but almost lost it in a tree first time out because it's so big and casts about a mile.

I had a SG 5" Shine Glide break off mid cast, I went snorkeling for it a week later when the water warmed up, still couldn't retrieve it. I did find a musky bait while I was in 12 feet of water, looked like the pic below, but it was wooden and about 90% of the paint was gone. d**n thing was still attached to the thickest fluoro leader I've ever seen:

The only type of lures that I can convince myself to spend big on are topwaters. That being said the most expensive lure I've purchased would have to be either the Deps Slither K or Buster K. I think they're around $20.

Great thread...  I bought an Elements Davinci 190 for around 90 bucks from Japan.  Love the action on it but havent thrown it that much for fear of losing it... LOL20190504_123845.thumb.jpg.7da0c13edc11265f4a931d23bd5896e6.jpg

I've got two 9" slammers I think I paid like 75 or 80 for. Expensive....yea. But I don't really fear losing them since they float and I'm usually in a kayak. No muskies or monster pike where I live to steal them. Plus, it's not money down the drain even if I were to not use them (which I do), I could sell them for close to what I bought them for. That's the nice thing with swimbaits, you can essentially rent baits because of the resale market.

Back a few years ago when I was really into tossin swimbaits, 3:16 had some very nice ones, very life like looking. The price was the kicker, some of the ones I bought were $ 150.00 each, no typo, $150.00 USD. I was always nervous about throwing them as they were all treble hooked and any thought of them getting snagged just un neved me..I eventually sold them all. As of today my most spendy is my Lucky Craft 110. $ 17.00..

My most expensive lures

spro rats in 2 colors 25.00 roughly

whopper plopper low 16-20

and my musky x-rap id have to verify size but was 26.00 I believe

i also have a 28.00 pike musky bucktail spinner which weights like 3 ounces or something wild lol.

so far so good. I loose lures every season, but overall even if you loose a rat and a whopper plopper each season or a couple those aren’t like loosing a 280$ swim bait lol.

For freshwater most of my lures range from 4-10$

Plus, I play hockey, so I buy 300$ sticks to use as a club pretty much so it’s warped my view on what’s expensive for my “hobbies”. My tackle box has easily 700$ of lures and that’s on my new one. The only one was stolen. That thief got me for about 1200$ in lures and if he was a fisherman stole a Mecca of lures for my area. It sickens me to know people are slaying fish on my stolen tackle ?

I've got the smaller hardgill, still not cheap and I've only got one fish on it so far....but it was a 5lber. I haven't really fished it much either but I should this summer.
