I can't help you with that "Jack Hammer alternative," however, you can open the eye on the Jack Hammer. I've already changed out blades on a few Jack Hammers. (Also retied my own skirts on some.) If you look closely at the head of the bait, you'll see a slot where the end of the eye rests in. Using very small needle nose pliers, (You want small enough jaws to fit inside the eye.) you can pull the end out of the that slot. Take your time and you will not chip the paint on the head. Once you change blades, carefully bend, push, the end of the eye back into the slot. Quote
OnthePotomac Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 My alternative is the plain old Original Elite series. I am lovin' the big 5/0 hook on that thing. Quote
FCPhil Posted May 4, 2019 Posted May 4, 2019 I really like the advantage baits jawbreaker jig on TW. Real nice components, lots of vibration and lower price. Quote
Brett's_daddy Posted May 5, 2019 Posted May 5, 2019 I was able to get my local DSG to price match Scheels at $12.79 for the Jackhammers plus I had a $10 coupon code so for two 1/2oz. Jackhammers I paid a total of $16 and change which means they were roughly $8+ each...that's the only way I'd buy them...we'll see if they live up to the hype! 1 Quote

I would need to check if my DSG has jack hammer. Majority of mine is the Z-Man Custom from TW. Quote
