joeyd50 Posted June 1, 2008 Posted June 1, 2008 Guys, I have a 101 lb Minn Kota I'm thinking of putting on my 1987 Skeeter, I don't have any bank chargers on my boat, everything has been 12 volt. After I hook the 3 batteries for 36 volt, how would you charge them without putting all the money out for a 3 bank charger? Thanks Joe Quote
Super User Wayne P. Posted June 1, 2008 Super User Posted June 1, 2008 Charge them individually with three separater chargers (that is what a three bank charger does) or switch to another battery after each individual one is charged. The second is not recommended for good battery life as the batteries need to be recharged as soon as possible after discharge. Quote
joeyd50 Posted June 2, 2008 Author Posted June 2, 2008 I'm looking at this one http://www.onlinemarine.com/cgi-local/SoftCart.exe/online_superstore/fishing/minn_kota_mk315_battery_charger.htm?L+scstore+ymjp6926ff5af05a+1212413441 anyone have it, and how you like it? Thanks Joe Quote
HPBB Posted June 2, 2008 Posted June 2, 2008 that chager you showed should work ok. I use a Promariner Pro sport 20 on mine. I run a 36 volt Motor guide. You will love that motor on your boat. I can't stand using other ones now. if you really don't want to spend the $$ on a onboard 3 bank chager and get away with one 12 volt portable chager. you can dissconect the jumper cables and charge the one by one. however this may take 3 nights or so. if you need to charge overnight this may be a problem. I would get the onboard 3 bank and just hook them up and forget it. also don't forget to charge your staring battery. Quote
