With various finesse jig head sizes available  for the Keitech 2.8 FAT (#1 or 1/0 hook size) is anyone fishing the 2.8 on a jig head less than 1/8 oz. (i.e. 3/32 oz. or 1/16th oz.) ?  I ask because in shallower water applications (below 10') do you find the rate of fall on the 2.8 size to be too fast with a 1/8th oz. jig size or you find yourself having to reel a bit faster than you would like to keep the 2.8 up a little higher ? ... Gosh , the 2.8 FAT Impact sure  is tiny which is creating proper jig head weight doubts (lol !)

I use 1/16oz jig heads a good bit but i haven't thrown 2.8". I usually throw 3.3" or 3.8" on them in super shallow water(4' or less) or near structure. The 1/16oz jig heads i use are homemade and the hook would't work good on a 2.8". If you could find some 1/16oz jig heads with a small enough hook then i would use it for sure.

Id say stay at 1/0 size hook minimum if at all possible. Fall rate the fish will let you know what they like so having both 1/16 and 1/8 is in order. I fish the 2.8 a lot with both weights and hook sizes 1-1/0-2/0 and like 1/8 with 2/0 hook the best. But yes with lighter weight you can reel slower while fishing shallower. For very shallow and not wanting to drag bottom say 2-4fow 1/16 deeper than that think 1/8 will be fine.

I have some 3/32oz midwest finesse heads that I fish them on with a #1 hook. It works well when it's calm and/or they're in shallow water.

The 3/32nd oz. #1 size hook looks like it would be a good all - around size for the 2.8 FAT Swing Impact - moving up to 1/8th oz. if the wind picked up .
