Who actually eats bass anyway?

(raises his hand) Any I catch in the 2#-3# range has a 50/50 chance of ending up as fillets in my freezer.

Just from the post he put on that page it looks like he's just another white trash dude who will continue to do this.

Don't bring race into it.  There are crappy people of all shades and sizes.

It appears that in my state, that will be perfectly legal soon.

I live in a city that has a significant foreign population. I’ve seen many folks take buckets of bass home to eat.

My in-laws came here in ‘78 and still wonder why I don’t bring my catches home to them, pickerel included.

Right or wrong, it’s just the way it is sometimes.

There's nothing wrong with harvesting bass. Or any species. It's funny because hunters are praised when they tag a huge buck. But if they keep a big bass it's frowned upon. Make whatever excuses you want, it's the same thing. Both have already passed their genetics on , and both are treasure in the outdoor world.

Never quite understood why it's okay to take a huge buck but not okay to take a huge bass. I personally wouldn't just because I'd hope to catch it again and I don't like to eat most fish anyway. But I would take the buck surely, but I'd also take a smaller buck and would definitely take a doe as well.

Sounds like the answer to your question is a lot of people eat bass, myself included. They are delicious. Poaching is bad but catching and eating bass is my favorite thing in the world

I wouldn't a bit mind eating the fish I catch here locally, but I'm partial to the taste of fish that hasn't been marinating in Pennzoil its whole life. I love the fishing here, but the water is nasty.

Oh, no question. The only way it could've been worse is if it had to be declared a superfund site.

What a d**n shame.  Equipment should be confiscated, hefty fines, license revoked.  Jail time for future lifetime ban of fishing violations.  These guys are scum.
