Alright I'm sure this has been asked before but just looking for more opinions.

Looking for a couple 6'6" mf spinning rods for light jerkbait and topwater.

Not looking to go crazy here since I don't think you need any crazy sensitivity for these applications, and I just dropped a buncha $ on a couple LTB and CI4+ for plastics.

I'm trying to decide between the clarus and the triumph. Which would you pick? Or should I consider something else in the $80 range.

Can't comment on the Clarus, but I have a Triumph and like it a lot. It's probably my favorite spinning rod. 6'6" Medium Light/Fast.

I've got a 6'6" MF Triumph and use it for jerkbaits. Obviously not as nice as the upper St Croix lines but still quality. Can't comment on other comparable options in that price range but I'm sure you'll get some recommendations from others.

Picked up a 6'6" Clarus a while back and was really impressed with it. I think the lack of endorsement is because it hasn't been handled by most guys, whereas the Triumph seems to be more readily available (and more familiar).

I haven't handled the newer models, but have owned and fished older models of both and preferred the Clarus.

Following this because I just ordered a Shimano Clarus from Sierra Trading Post for $37 (plus shipping). I ordered the 7ft. MH/F but I'm thinking about returning it once it gets here and exchanging it for a Medium Light/Fast as I already have two MH/F spinning rods as well as two Medium/Fast but i don't have any Medium Light/Fast for finesse (drop shot, Ned/Neko Rig).
