I recently purchased a registered but untitled Astroglass 195v, supposedly 1977.  A couple problems, one I don't believe Astroglass made the 195v in 1977 and two, the haul ID is TOTALLY off.  The trans HID is completely invalid so I am looking for the hidden HID.  I've looked everywhere I can think of but no luck.  Does anyone know where it may be?

It is more than likely under the rub rail on the right rear of the boat.

Thats good to know.   I just pulled back the rub rail on the left side of the boat, I may as well pull the entire thing!  I wouldn't have ever looked there.  Thanks for the advice

OK, When you said under the rub rail I was hoping you were referring to it being literally under the rub rail but what I think you're referring to is the US Coast Guard required location of the right-rear of the transom for all marine vessels.  I am looking for the second, hidden HID.

Check out the link above, if your boat is truly a 195V it was built in 1986; iboats.com lists almost every boat by every Manufacturer for every year. While they do not list where to find your HID I'm quite sure you can email them and would probably get an answer.

On some boats it is under the rubrail like the other poster said, and you have to remove it to find it.

I took the rub rail off with no luck.

2 suggestions for finding the HID:

1.  Contact your local Department of Motor Vehicles or whoever in your state that is responsible for registering boats.  They should have someone that can tell you or at least they do in my state.

2.  Contact your local State Police.  When they find boats that they suspect are stolen they check the hidden HID to verify ownership.  They have someone that can tell you were to look.

Hope that helps.
