Looking to add a fish finder to my boat. want to spend around 600 bucks. The Lowrance Elite Ti2 7 looks promising. I had a couple questions that Ive had a hard time finding answers for.

1.) Is spending an extra 150 worth it for Active Imaging over the standard HDI transducer. I should mention i usually fish smaller lakes, no more than 30 feet deep. I also plan on attaching the transducer to the trolling motor ( Minn Kota powerdrive v2).

2.) I have read that a tablet can be connected to the Elite Ti2 and duplicate the screen? If so, that would be handy for a co angler in the back of the boat with a cheap tablet.

3.)

Dang, I have the same questions...u ever get any answers?  What did you end up doing?

The 3 in 1 vs the hdi was the main question I had.  And I also fish in shallow places as well.

I dont know about the hdi, but i have a ti2 9 with active imaging. Its a big transducer. I dont know how well it would work on a trolling motor. Its too long to mount on my TM. Its 10 or 11 inches long
