johnmyers Posted April 18, 2019 Posted April 18, 2019 I have some Curado 200 DHSV reels and like them really well only negative is weight 9.2 oz I believe. How do they compare to the Metanium MGL Quote
The Bassman Posted April 19, 2019 Posted April 19, 2019 If weight isn't an issue the Curado is bulletproof and very smooth. It's almost 3 oz. heavier than the Met and quite a bit bulkier. if you pick up a Met you might not go back. Some guys do complain that the aluminum gears lose their smoothness with time. Some are even swapping them out for a brass Curado K gearset. The DHSV's will last forever with care. Again, it's a matter of how comfortable you are now with the curados. They both are great casters. Quote
johnmyers Posted April 19, 2019 Author Posted April 19, 2019 Thanks they are on NXS so they are still pretty light and balance well Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 19, 2019 Super User Posted April 19, 2019 I think that those Curado D's are great spinnerbait/chatterbait/ square bill/ lipless crank reels. I have 2 and mine cast 17 & 20 lb mono very well and they hold a lot of line. I think that for "feel" baits like jigs & worms they are a little heavy, I like a Curado 50 or a Chronarch 50 for fishing "feel" baits. Quote
