waymont Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I have 3 Dobyns Fury casting rods which I love. Last season I designated my 703 as a Square bill rod. Due to the kind of slower action Dobyns have, I found it to be a perfect rod for treble hook baits. Anyone else try this out? Last year was my first time really using Squarebills frequently. Quote
Jcj90 Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Yes i Use it for traps and shallow cranks especially around grass and cover 1 Quote

Joshua van Wyk Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I use mine for the same thing, it also doubles as a weightless plastic rod. 1 Quote
Derek1 Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I’ve been thinking about that for a setup in the future. Never held one but the slightly softer action I hear about makes it sound like it might be a great mod/fast+ for those baits. 1 Quote
ItsHardwick Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 Before I bought a bunch more rods, in a pinch I used my 733 for squarebills and my 735 for deep divers when I needed to. Worked just fine. Quote
