dropped shot Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 I'm looking to invest in a heavier combo for flipping pads and throwing some smaller swimbaits like the gantarel jr. My budget is pretty decent maybe $300 for the setup. Thanks Quote
BassThumb Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Put your location on your profile. The recommendations will differ based on the size of bass in your area. I'd recommend a different rod if you were in Texas vs. Massachusetts, for example. Quote
long island basser Posted April 16, 2019 Posted April 16, 2019 Powell inferno 7’6” mh fast swimbait rod rated 3/8 to 3 oz. Nice rod for the money, fairly light and sensitive, handles the weight ratings well and I really like the shorter handle. Paired with a Quantum smoke S3 casting reel. My first Quantum baitcaster and my favorite in my arsenal. Awesome reel imo. This is my second season with this setup and absolutely love it. Works well with many techniques/lures. Ive thrown hudd68, spro rat 40, whopper plopper 110, s waver 168, Jigs, spinnerbaits, t-rigs, hollow body frogs. And comes in under your budget. Quote
CroakHunter Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 7'6 heavy tatula. Really nice rod for the money. Quote
Super User WRB Posted April 17, 2019 Super User Posted April 17, 2019 I fought you are flipping with the same rod used for smaller swimbaits. Irod IRG 754F is a good all around rod with Shimano Cardiff 300A. Tom Quote
