Super User NorthernBasser Posted April 16, 2019 Super User Posted April 16, 2019 I've never used a Megabass rod before. But I found the new 2019 Levantes on sale for 25% off. I know these are rather new, but was curious if anyone has any experience with them? Or even the older model? Quote
Super User iabass8 Posted April 16, 2019 Super User Posted April 16, 2019 I really like the gen1 orochi xx..specifically the diablo spec r. Awesome blade rod/swim jig rod. Not a fan of the new orochi or levante. The reel seat they use is super uncomfortable. 1 Quote

Deeare Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I have 2 of the orochi xx gen 1. Spinning and a casting. I find that the actual power is lighter than the rating. Not sure if this is the same with the levante but wanted to make you aware. Good luck! 1 Quote
ItsHardwick Posted April 17, 2019 Posted April 17, 2019 I got the diablo spec-r and the perfect pitch the week the new levantes came out. I haven’t had a whole lot of experience with either one yet but from what I’ve seen so far I really like both of them. 1 Quote
Neal.rohs@yahoo.com Posted February 18, 2020 Posted February 18, 2020 I’m unable to find where I can buy one, where did you get yours for 25% off? Quote

The 2019 Levante's were all destroyed unfortunately due to durability issues. I believe they are being redone but their arrival date is suspect as well as they are most likely a different blank. So, no levantes and especially no 25% off leavantes 1 Quote
Neal.rohs@yahoo.com Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Do you know where I can get the orochi at a discounted price? Quote

I’m a big fan of megabass rods, and have never seen them available at a discount from a retailer. In my opinion your best bet would be to keep an eye on the marketplace here for one in good used condition. I’ve purchased 2 orochis this way and have not been disappointed. 1 1 Quote
bunz559 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I can't wait for the return of the Levantes since they were pulled from the market. But I currently am using a Diablo in the Orochi XX and it's a great rod. Use mine for bladed jigs, jighead swim baits like Keitechs, and spinners. If the action and power is some what replicated in the Levantes, it'll be a great rod. 1 Quote

Got it mostly for swim jigs, Keitech's/underspins, ripping lipless cranks thru grass. Was thinking about getting the Curado DC but not sure yet. 1 Quote

Diablo spec R is a light rod, my buddy uses a met mgl, I'd think a curado dc would be on the heavy side, just my opinion 1 Quote

But it balances perfectly with my Curado K on it (minus line). And the DC is only .2 oz heavier. Quote

I liked it and it does the job. Hard to beat the K as a middle weight reel. But recently I tried my 6 gear ratio Metanium MGL on it and am in love with it. Similar size, but lighter. Cannot go wrong with either. 1 Quote

You have the older model or the new 150 B that just came out? Quote
