Can anyone tell me about how the the size and diameter of the guides on the St. Croix Legend X spinning rods compare with the Legend Extreme spinning rod seris?

I use 15 lb. braid with a floro leader and the smaller guides on the Extreme seris gives me more than a little concern about knot wear, even though I know they are not micros.

I have a Legend Elite spinning rod with "regular" size guides and obviously no problem with them as far as knot wear is concerned. Am I asking for trouble with the smaller guides when using an alberto knot and leader? I am very interested in the Legend X but am worried that if they have the smaller diameter guides as on the Extreme, they would eventually wear on the  knot fraying and damaging the knot.

Am I getting worried about a problem that does not exist?

Call St Croix and ask them what size the running guides are. Size 5 or bigger should not present a problem for a connection knot. They have always answered my phone inquiries with helpfulness & accurate help.

If you’re worried about “knot wear” yes, it is a problem that doesn’t exist. The knot might get stuck in the guides or catch on them ruining your cast, but no rod in this category will ever damage your line with friction.
