Bun!t Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 I’m going to be getting a new jig/Texas rig rod and looking for recommendations. I bought a champion do 744 jig rod last year. I like it OK, but I feel like it’s really lacking in sensitivity for its price. I’ve narrowed it down to a few models. Kistler H3 7’3” MH or H Loomis IMX 853C JWR MB Orchi XX Perfect Pitch The other option would be doing the trade in program with Dobyns and move into an extreme HP. However I’d rather not waste my $ if I’m going to get more sensitivity out of one of the three above. I’m open to other options options if there’s anything out there better than the ones I listed. I won’t be doing any heavy cover work. Mainly throwing 3/8oz - 1/2oz jigs, and 1/4oz - 1/2 oz trigs. I also want to keep the price around $300. Thanks Quote
LonnieP Posted April 11, 2019 Posted April 11, 2019 Kistler H3 would be my choice. I love mine. On sale right now for 21% off. Quote
Stephen B Posted April 12, 2019 Posted April 12, 2019 G Loomis and the MB are both phenomenal. Can't go wrong either way. Those would be my choice over the Kistler. Quote

Super User Jrob78 Posted April 12, 2019 Super User Posted April 12, 2019 I've got the H3 7'3" H and it is a fantastic rod. I use it for jigs, and heavy t-rigs. At the current sale price it's a no brainer to me. For jigs and heavy t-rigs get the H, for lighter jigs and lighter t-rigs get the MH. 1 Quote
