YoTone Posted June 10, 2020 Posted June 10, 2020 That's a sweet catch man them post spawn females look so deceiving but once you see how skinny they get it makes sense. 1 Quote

My Hook set game was weak this morning. Biggest was around 2.5. Nothing huge, but pretty consistent action. I fished there 3 weeks ago. 7 bass 7 pickerel....and one was the biggest pickerel I've ever caught! It was huge!!! Wish I would have gotten a pic. But it was a beautiful morning! I live about 15min from Beltzville and rarely go there... Has to be the hardest body of water in the Northeast to catch anything! Quote

JediAmoeba Posted June 17, 2020 Posted June 17, 2020 I know they were killing the stripers with a-rigs a few weeks ago but our little boat isnt safe out in the middle. Lol Quote
YoTone Posted June 19, 2020 Posted June 19, 2020 The night bite has been pretty sweet for me these last few weeks. the chatterbait and the buzzbait is what i throw. the chatterbait has been dominating so far. Quote

That's a scarey risk to Use on a lure that gets hung up easily. Quote

I'm going to try using it only on the water, around weed lines and similar type stuff, but I still feel like I could get hung up on something ? It'll be fun while it lasts, though Quote

How are you working the chatter at night, steady retrieve? And a dark color I assume? Can never figure out if I should work it like a jig or steady retrieve Quote

Can never figure out if I should work it like a jig or steady retrieve just a steady retrieve buddy. my chatterbait is usually the same for day or night which is with a bluegill/green pumpkin skirt. but there are times where i do aim for the weeds and rip/pop it out. ive had some of my most violent strikes from the biggest bass ive caught using that technique. Edit I was planning to stay in and not bike out to my pond but after I wrote My response it gave me the itch to go for a few minutes. Good move for me and not so good news for these guys. Just as i said before I aimed for the weeds and as soon as i popped it out they hammered it. 2 Quote

I recommend Fairview lake a few miles down the road, no hp restriction but a speed limit instead. Also blue marsh and beltzville can be fun. Not many other options in eastern pa that I know of with no hp limit 1 Quote
Eric Matechak Posted June 21, 2020 Posted June 21, 2020 (edited) Something about stocking fish in a pond is so satisfying. My dad had a 1/4 acre pond built on the farm when I was a teenager. Almost 20 years later, re-energizing the genetic pool with 11 yellow perch (6-7"), 6 bass 7-9", 18 channel cats, 200 fathead minnows, 100 1-2" bluegill, and 6 koi. I know it's a relatively small amount but exciting for me nonetheless Edited June 21, 2020 by Eric Matechak Quote

They have pretty small mouths so even a 4" bluegill is a serious challenge for them I imagine. If I flatheads in there, that would be another story entirely haha 1 Quote
Adam Markley Posted June 22, 2020 Posted June 22, 2020 My farm pond got over taken with weeds last year, we had 3-4 bass in there over 3 pounds. Now it’s all dinks and weeds ? Quote

As an encouragement, this one was caught in Fairview Lake. Another spot would Shohola Lake, it's shallow and weedy but has some big bass and chain pickerel in it. Quote
