Time of Day - Prespawn?

I will be heading to the lake house in NEPA this weekend for the opening day of trout; however, I do plan on doing some bass fishing as well. I have been having better luck with the trout in the early morning/at night in streams around my house in SEPA. I haven't done enough bass fishing yet this year.

 

I am predicting that the water temperatures will be mid to high forties, possibly low fifties towards the end of the trip, as it will be warm and rainy.

What is the best time of day to fish? Please don't say "any time you can fish is the best time", I have no school for the next two weeks and will literally fish sun up to sun down if I can. just wanna know the best time of day.

 

also will fish be in the super shallow (4-6') and muddy side of the lake (SE), or the deeper (6-12') rocky/weedy side of the lake (where all the trout will be too) (NW)?

thanks, is it best that time of day because the sun will heat the water the most?

 

I don't think the lake will be too muddy, usually stays pretty clear.

For me, I like to get there around 10 and try to stay till about 3. Seems like noon to about 2 is the best time for me.

Most active feeding period depends on the bass and every lake has a different rythym.

It's impossible to predict active periods without actually fishing. The highest odds may not be mid day as suggested, it can be however. Low light periods give predator bass an advantage over it's prey. I would consentrate my bass fish dawn to around 8 Am and 2 hours before dusk for LMB and brighter time periods for Smallmouth bass.

From my experience here in PA, fish the shallower areas during the warmest, sunniest times of the day this time of year. That water starts warming up and the fish get active and push up there. 

 

But again, this is fishing and your results may vary.
