Super User roadwarrior Posted May 23, 2008 Super User Posted May 23, 2008 What are you using the motor for? This is a fishing forum, are you sure this is where you wanted to be? Quote
jim payne Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 What are you hooking the 48 volts too? I can help if I know what you are doing. Quote
kissmybass1967 Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 yes the motor is in a resevoir rig Quote
kissmybass1967 Posted May 23, 2008 Author Posted May 23, 2008 Thanks Stayncharge! it is currently wired to 8 6V batteries. i am pretty sure that the problem is in the solenoid and switch wiring but i'm not sure exactly where. Quote
jim payne Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 What is a resevoir rig? If you are powering a 48 volt motor then this is a easy process. You have the positive of the outside battery going to the pos of whatever you are powering and the other outside battery would have the neg going to whatever you are powering then you have the two batteries in the middle and hook them together pos to neg with jumpers. If you would like you can call me and we can walk through it. 612-590-5833 Quote
Super User Gatorbassman Posted May 23, 2008 Super User Posted May 23, 2008 I'll try mind reading. A resevoir boat is an all electric boat used on small county water empoundments. What he's trying to do is build an electric outboard motor out of a golf cart motor. Quote
jim payne Posted May 23, 2008 Posted May 23, 2008 Just got off the phone with her and that is what they have already. Says it really does well too. Her wiring problems sound like the solenoid is bad, She knew what she was talking about. Quote
