I’ve sat around a lot the last few weeks going through different presentations I can use this year. One of the reoccurring presentations is the wacky rig.

I know that the Senko is widely used in that department. I have a 3700 tray full of nothing but Swim Senkos.

It got me thinking that I could use those and see how it works for me.

Does anybody use a paddle tail worm or paddle tail fluke for a wacky rig?

I haven't - don't have any swim stick-baits (Senko or otherwise). But I think it'd add a little more action on the fall...could work out quite well.

I only wacky rig Senkos and Trick Worms, and I only wacky rig the Trick Worms when I feel they need to see something different than a Senko.

stick worms and trick worms mainly. I love the Havoc Flat Dawg for wacky rigging but it is so fragile that I'd cast about every other one off immediately after rigging it.

The Flat Dawg was an awesome stick worm. I wish they would add it to the powerbait lineup. I still have a couple bags I am saving but yeah they are fragile. I think I caught 2 bass on one worm once other than that it was one and done.

I recall, several years ago, In-fisherman magazine ran an article about how you could wacky rig any bait.  They specifically mentioned wacky rigging tubes.  I'm pretty sure if the bait has a middle, you can run a hook through it and there you go - wacky rig.

Me, if it ain't a senko, I'm unlikely to wacky rig it.  I own some of those flick/shake worms (Jackall maybe?) or the BPS equivalent.   They've spoken to me and said "put me in coach", but I haven't done it yet.  To the original question, the flick/shake is a design that is specifically made to be wacky rigged.

It occurs to me that Reaction Innovations, the company that makes Beavers, came out with a worm pointed on both ends specifically designed to be wacky rigged.   Also, I recall that the company that makes sluggos also makes a wacky bait called the "Spanky".

Got these worms to try this year. They have a curly tail on both ends. They make them with a paddle tail on both ends as well, Dynapaddle.

I don’t know about wacky, I’ve only ever really done senkos and trick worms. However, I did catch a few last year on neko rigged craws. I saw an article about it somewhere and got curious so I tried it and it actually works fairly well. Not something I’d do all the time but was fun for a change of pace.

Wacky is pretty much the main way I use swim senko. I just bust em out when im out of my preferred regular senko or want a different action on the rig. Rarely will I t rig it. Catches fish like a champ.

I saw an article once about wacky rigging a lizard.  Don't remember where. I've never tried it.

The only thing I wacky rig are stick worms and (rarely) straight-tailed finesse worms.

Jackall Flick Shake worms have been the worm that works best for me wacky style!  Classic senkos surprisingly I've had the best luck on a shakey head.
