Spinning reel comparison : Daiwa Regal vs. Pflueger President : Both cost about the same (2500 / 3000 series) ... What would your preference be as the better reel ?

Both would be good choices but every sub 100.00 Daiwa reel I've ever handled felt smoother than anything Pflueger. Durability might be another matter. Several guys on here love their Pfluegers.

I've been using a pflueger for the past 2 seasons with zero issues. Still as smooth as the day I bought it.

I have fished Plueger spinning reels for over a decade, If maintained properly they are one of the best bang for the buck reels available in my opinion.    The President and Supreme series are both fun to use without breaking the bank.  I guess I should add that I do own a couple of RG2500's, they are smooth and have been reliable.  I just don't have the time using them as I do the Pfluegers.

All my reels are Daiwa and Shimano...and 2 Pflueger Presidents.  Purchased the President and President XT during the BPS trade in sale.  Used both and returned the XT and exchanged it for another President.
