Well, I finally made my decision. I just ordered a new Shimano Curado DC 7.4:1 RH. I got it from Academy Sports as I had a 30% off coupon code for them so I ended up getting my new DC for $185 shipped. It just seemed like a good choice for me personally as a best of both worlds as far as skipping or bombing casts. I watch the videos on YouTube and a lot of guys use the DC on setting 4 for skipping so it seems as though maybe the Tat SV might be a little better at skipping but the DC won't be that far behind too. Now I just have to wait for ice out up here in the North .

I'm glad I can't find an Academy coupon worth 30%, cause that would end up costing me over 50% in community property, and joint assets...

It's a nice reel, the DC whine gets addictive. You'll enjoy it!

I was amazed to find out that its actually a speaker in the reel playing the whine. It was too quiet and they felt it would be a turnoff to the customer.

It was a special deal for me...making up for a botched transaction.

I figured as much. I'm a sporting goods retailer, and the only way I might consider giving someone 30% off on anything is if I "botched" an order by putting in a badger or wolverine in the box instead of lures...
