texan875 Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 After getting my tournament pro speed spool, I put it on an all star I had laying around. It’s not a bad rod, but I’m looking to upgrade. Right now my top choice would be a Duckett Silverado but I’m open to anything. Thanks Quote
Russ E Posted April 2, 2019 Posted April 2, 2019 Between $110.00 and $120.00 you can get a Dobyns fury. That would be my choice. Quote
LonnieP Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Sportsman’s outfitters has the Daiwa Tatula on sale for $99. Quote
Drew03cmc Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 H2O Xpress Ethos HD...fishes way above $70. Quote

Fishin' Fool Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Between the Daiwa Tatula, Dobyns Fury, and the St Croix Mojo bass. You really can't go wrong. Quote
Glaucus Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Add Fenwick HMG, Okuma EVX, and I've heard good things about the Shimano SLX. Quote

Super User new2BC4bass Posted April 3, 2019 Super User Posted April 3, 2019 I like my HMGs, but for $100 I'd take the Tatula first. Read good things about the H2O Ethos and EVX (and of course the Fury) but no experience with them. The few reviews I have read about Ark rods have been pretty good. Picked up a 6'10" MF Sniper on sale at TW, but no chance to use it yet. Feels nice in hand and hoping fishing it only increases my liking for it. The two rods dodgeguy mentioned are well thought of here. Never had a Bocoo, but at one time I had more Falcons than any other brand. Daiwa now holds that title thanks to the Tatula line. (Haven't gotten rid of any Falcons. Nice rods.) Quote
ratherbfishin1 Posted April 3, 2019 Posted April 3, 2019 Another vote for Bass Pro Carbonlite. One of my Tournament Pros is on a carbonlite and it is a sweet combo! Quote
Super User Fishes in trees Posted April 3, 2019 Super User Posted April 3, 2019 I have a couple of the Academy H2O rods. Outstanding value IMO. One that I bought a couple of years ago, 7' MH, is on the light side of MH and compares favorably to a Falcon Lowrider Finesse Jig Special (formerly Eakins Jig) rod. By the way, $70 is regular price and they frequently go on sale (like late December/ January every year) Quote
Flatrock Posted April 4, 2019 Posted April 4, 2019 I just purchased a Alba Garcia graphite Vendetta Med / Moderate action 7' $79 Great feel to it. Quote
