Falcon BuCoo SR Casting Rod

Hey guys. A guy at work is selling a Falcon BuCoo SR Casting Rod 7'2" med heavy/ moderate fast. 

 

I've never used a Falcon rod before, but have heard good things about these rods for being at a "cheaper" price point. 

 

What can I expect from this particular rod? Especially with the moderate fast action? What presentations would this shine with?

I have the previous BuCoo rod but I imagine they are pretty similar. I have the 7’ MH MF and it makes a great spinnerbait rod and all purpose rod. I personally think they don’t get enough hype at that price point

I own the Trap Caster model.  Very pleased with the rod.  Very light and fairly sensitive.  The moderate fast tip makes it very versatile from light Texas rigs to crank baits( although I would prefer it a tad more moderate for cranks) , great for lipless though, 3/8 oz spinnerbaits and chatter baits, although I feel 1/2 oz would be the limit, it can totally do it.

 

Not much it can't do except for big single hook bottom baits.  If the price is even half way decent, jump on it.

Have to agree with the 2 above me. Love my Trap Caster (7' MH/Mod) for lipless cranks, squarebills, and spinnerbaits. Also use it for my a lot of my topwater treble hook stuff too, Whopper Plopper, Jackal Riser etc.

I have not experience with the 7'2" Falcon Bucco however,  I can agree with previous posters about the Bucco

7' Trap Caster.   I like mine, I use it for lipless cranks, it is the only rod that I've paid full retail price for (At Walmart no less) because I came across it, wanted it, bought it.   I normally don't buy rods from individuals, for a variety of reasons, but if the rod is in decent shape and hasn't been abused, go ahead and get it.

Falcon makes excellent rods. Their warranty service is amazing. My first bucco I bought 8 years ago. One of the guide inserts broke . 8 years later they sent me a new rod even though it was out of warranty.

Thanks for the replies guys. So even tho this rod is 2" more than the 7' Trap Caster, can I expect it to behave the same since they're both MH/MF?

I have the 7-2 you speak of and it is a great chatterbait, spinnerbait rod. I haven't thrown anything else on it, but would imagine it is a great all rounder

I have the 7’2” cara model and it’s faster than the bucoo micro trapcaster but they fish very similar to me.  The 7’2” is really good for any sub 3/8 oz lures.  Spinnerbait, fluke, shakey head, trig, topwater, etc.     very versatile rod .

So, looking more into this I'm guessing the 7' fishes a little stiffer than the 7'2", bust based on line/lure weight recommendations.

Just looked at the specs.  1/8-3/8 for med heavy?  On what planet?

 

I'd go handle the rod in person and decide for myself based on the ole' bend the tip on the carpet test.
