I know people have compared these reels before but I have a some specific questions if someone can help. Does the Tatula CT cast further or pitch further because of the T-wing system? Do they have the same spool?

*I plan on fishing braided line if that makes a difference. Thanks!

I think some people hype up the T-wing too much but I think you would see a small distance increase just because it's pulling the braid off the spool at less of an angle so it will hang up less on itself if there's any dig-in on the spool. That said it's probably going to be on the order of a few yards.

For what it's worth I have a couple tatulas and will probably buy fuegos going forward. I'm also a braid guy and use leaders a lot. The leaders knot does not always play nice with the T-wing when you reel it back into the reel.

Last year I was going back and forth between these two reels for my frog rod.  I bought the Fuego CT because it does NOT have the T wing.  I have the T wing on some of my Tatula SVs and I could take it or leave it.  I’m not convinced it gives me anymore casting distance and I’m hoping it is not just something else that could malfunction down the line.

You can also get the Fuego for less than $60 when eBay is doing promo codes.  That is an absolute steal for a reel as good as the Fuego.

I have both and they're both fantastic for the money. I much prefer the tatula myself. Mine just seem to feel a little better to me and I like the looks a little better. Have no complaints about either!

I have the original Tatula and the Fuego. Both great reels but to be honest the T wing system doesn't do much for me. If anything the leader knot gets hung up if using a long leader. The Tatula is built like a tank though, the Fuego is solid too but the Tatula is a solid reel. Overall I would go the Fuego route.

I can’t compare the tatula ct but have 3 tatula Sv that we fish on the regular, and a buddy has the fuego ct. I think for the money that fuego has to be the best there is. If the only real difference is the t-wing I would go fuego all day over the tatula ct. the t wing is nice, but not a real selling feature for me.
