Back in the day, I used to slay some of my local lakes here in San Diego Using Don Lovino reapers. Mainly Carolina rigged. However, I stopped using them due to Heavy grass in the summer time. Could you possibly drop shot reapers and have good results?

I’ve done it. It’s been a great numbers bait. The down side was small fish loved it but I’ve caught 3 lbers doing it.

I often fish a 3-1/2 in. wave worm tiki-drop on a dropshot. Probably my favorite dropshot bait. Good luck finding them, I think they’re now discontinued. Got a bunch when they were like $1.50/bag

They were originally meant to be d-shot, even the "special" weight was meant for that.

Before Iovino came out with Reapers they was soft plastic leeches that look exactly like GYCB Wave worm. Back in the early 80’s Western Plastics in San Deigo introduced the 3” Reaper design that Iovino makes today, hand pour with a flat bottom and salted.

Reapers were 1st split shot rigged. If you rig them flat side down the spin.
