I am going to be relocating to the Knoxville area and one of the biggest criteria I am considering is finding a town that is best centrally located to the best bass fishing in the area.  Does anyone have any opinions on which towns I should look at so I am within 5-30 minutes from great bass fishing? thanks!

I live in Jefferson city TN. I'm 5 minutes from Cherokee lake , 15 minutes from Douglas lake, 35 minutes from ft Loudon lake. And many other quality lakes close by. Welcome to bass heaven imo

Maryville

I was born and raised in maryville and i don’t live there because it’s too far from the water haha. When I bought my house, my number 1 criteria was it has to be about 5 miles or less from the water

Anywhere around the area has its advantages but the best lake in the state for big largemouths is Chickamauga and Watts Bar rates a close second.  If you prefer smallmouth and river fishing, the waters east of Knoxville is where to look.  Can not go wrong in East TN, just a fantastic part of the country for fishing.  The only drawback is lots of boats on any of the the big lakes.
