However today I was kind of doing a roll cast, side arm kind of thing to get under some branches, and boy I sure did. I accidentally smacked the water with my squarebill and watched as it skipped a mile with no backlash. It was like I threw it out there or something. I didn't want to try on purpose after that because time was limited and I didn't want to waste it picking. 2 1 Quote

I had cast to shore and wrapped around a small overhang. I gaver hel! and it flew back 30 yards to the boat like a flat rock, skipping 15 times and then sliding smoothly the last 10 yards to “thud” gently into the side of my boat... I thought to myself - well obviously it can be done, now can I do that the other direction with my rod?! I’ve spent the past 5 years or so (and plenty of backlashes) trying to master weightless plastics skipping with a baitcaster. Lot of work but think I’m there. Braided line and a Daiwa SV spool have helped a lot.. Maybe trying to skip a squarebill is next!! 2 Quote

One time I was on the couch watching tv and my brother said to close his door because the tv was too loud. Instead of getting up, I grabbed the nearby combo and pitched the spinnerbait at the door knob. After about 25 tries it wrapped around the knob several times and I pulled the door shut. I could hear him mumble something like “too much free time” from behind the closed door. I may not be able to catching winning bags of fish but I can get the lure right where I want it! 2 Quote

The idea is to stand on the dam wall and cast under the bridge where the SMB like to hang out. Well I missed with my Ned Rig and it stuck to the concrete on the bridge like glue. Quote

Seems like a tough thing to skip. Watched some videos and tried a Super Fluke T-rigged. Pretty "easy" to get that to skip like a rock. Even felt like I knew what I was doing a few times Was just practicing mainly. I'm still on spinning rods so have no BC experience. Quote

The only thing I successfully skip almost every time is a Texas rigged Senko. Anything else is hit and miss, touchy. With casting gear that is. The squarebill skip was completely accidental but at the same time I didn't backlash so I have hope I can replicate this. Quote
