Possessed fishing line?

So today I decided to buy a new rod and reel which was a dobyn fury with a Daiwa legalis 1000 reel for fishing ned rigs and other finesse rigs. After spooling it with 10# sufix advanced hyper copolymer it became possessed. If even a small amount of slack is left in the line it shoots out 2 yards of line. I have been using baitcaster for a few years now so I haven't dealt with spinning gear in a while but I never remember line shooting off my spool like this before. Anyone have an idea why or how to stop it? I initially thought maybe I overfilled my spool as I filled it slightly more than I used to but it's down to half a spool and still doing it. I tried running a bunch out and stretching it which seemed to help a little but it's still not great.

Diameter of 10# line is probably too big for a reel that size. Try 6#.

One of these days you all will get the importance of monofilament line diameter for copolymers, fluorocarbons or Nylons.  Suffix 10 lb Advanced line is .012 diameter, anthing over .011 is too large for a 2500-3000 size spinning reel and the OP is using a 1000 size reel, anything over .010 diamter is too large.

Thank you! I didnt even consider that. All my older spinner reels are alot bigger.

Yes it was. I made sure I spooled it correctly.

Thank you! I never knew that before. I used to have all larger spinning reels and have been using all baitcasters with braid for a few years.

Don't feel bad, I get frustrated because this issue comes up all the time, Monday there was a "I am Done" thread with the same problem.

Braid with a leader resolves the problem or just use smaller diameter line.I use Maxima Ultra Green 5 lb (.008 dia) on Shimano Stractic 1000 for years.

Fill a glass with warm water and place the spool (w/line) in the glass for at least 10 mins (20 is better).  Then let it dry. That will help.

Don't you have a video about this, and a few other techniques that help with what OP described? I remember watching something like that when I was getting ready for a beach trip last year and it helped me a lot.

Agree in general with Glenn's advice, but he doesn't mention line diameter as a factor. 

If you use too large dia line ( over .012D increased memory) and follow the video you end up with coils comming off the spoil like a slinky using bass size fresh water spinning reels. Glenn memtioned to stop and check for line twist shortly after starting to spool, this is a critical step, flip the spool over if you see any twist and resolves most line twist issue when spooling a spinning reel.

If I may ask,  Have you considered braid for finesse?  I use 10-12# braid with a 6ft 8# fluro leader for ned, and neko rigs.   I think you would like it much better.  JMHO

Gospel.  I only use mono on my spinning reels other than a couple with Wide Spool Technology (WST) with 35lb braid on St Clair and 1 rod I use for frogging when I need to make super long casts.  Side note: I always walk my line off the spool after I fill it and respool it.
